I had to wait 2 months and prepaid a premium for white finish to match my other appliances. It replaced my 22-year-old GE which had a small door in the refrigerator side that fit a gallon of milk and two 64 oz soda bottles easily. My original also had more shelves and drawers. I especially miss the shallow cheese drawer from my original. 2 drawers are not enough for a fridge or are 2 shelves for a freezer. The new design requires stacking too much in both the freezer and refrigerator. The ice maker works well but it is a production to remove the container to empty it and the ice cubes are not accessible otherwise except thru the dispenser. The ice dispenser mechanism is plastic which seems weak. Additionally, the thin plastic film screwed to the underside of the ice container compartment does not keep ice shavings from the freezer shelf and the shoot outside gets coated with shavings and then they drip down once they melt. The entire ice maker system gets a D. The unit is quiet and temperatures in both the freezer and refrigerator hold well. I have had this unit running for 2 weeks now.

We had a Stainless Steel Version that was on loan to us while we waited 3 months for a white version. We liked the features of the stainless steel refrigerator and we were expecting the same thing only in white. 1. There is no deli drawer (which was very disappointing) as the stainless steel version at $500 less had one. 2. The lighting is poor. Only one light at the top which limits the visibility for the mid and bottom drawers. 3. Less lighting and shelving in freezer. 4. Would not recommend this model( white version)

The refrigerator is very pretty. Love the styling and size. However, it's a case of form over function. I've always owned counter depth refrigerators and have never had a problem with lack of space for food storage until this one. The interior is very poorly designed. The refrigerator is bad and the freezer is dreadful.

We brought our previous GE side-by-side fridge with us from our previous house 20 years ago. Other than the icemaker and water supply, it has been trouble free. A year ago it started making more noise than usual, and we started looking for a new one. We got this one because it was a counter-depth unit. it's not a lot smaller than the old one, but fits the space a little bit better. Makes a few little odd noises, but it seems to be working great so far. We wish the door bins had some dividers for better organizing.

Good space for the size

I had the old version of the same refrigerator as it was the only one that fit in the space that I have. I hated the old version as the drawers in the refrigerator portion took up so much room, I had no room for anything else. While I miss the cheese/cold it drawer from an organizational standpoint, I don't miss the room that it took up. I put a rectangular basket I had to organize and it works perfectly. The freezer compartment maximizes the available space well. I can't speak to the water supply hookup as I had a problem with this … but that is more the result of an old house and poor turnoff capability than a comment about this feature.

Just installed today so cannot provide an accurate review of its operation. The main disadvantage that we noted right away was the lack of shelves within the freezer section. It is necessary to pile frozen items on top of each other because of this. There is easily room in the freezer for one more full shelf, but there is no provision for installing another shelf.

Sleek White Refrigerator

This appliance was only one of two white, side by side, counter depth refrigerators I could even find. It looks clean and modern inside and out. The exterior is a smooth, glossy surface, and it is so quiet you never hear it running. The arrangement of shelves in both freezer and refrigerator seems well thought out; items are easy to see and to access. The space is an improvement over my 10 year old former appliance and easy choice given the alternative. Exterior access to the ice maker and water is my preference; yet it can be locked if that is an issue. The water dispenser pressure pad is gray so it does not show mineral stains as a white pad does.

Instead of a full basket in the freezer, this model has a 4" wide basket. Instead of one shelf it has an odd narrow slotted shelf. In the fridge, it doesn't have a cheese/meat narrow drawer like our old model. And instead of only one very narrow shelf on the door it has 2 narrow ones, so narrow that even a mason jar can't fit.

A good basic profile refrigerator/freezer

We had the exact model for 20 years prior to this one. We needed to fit a specific space, so we were very glad to find the exact same model, keeping us from having to remodel the entire kitchen. While the new one is very similar to the old one, we did lose a few things...a shelf in the freezer, and a drawer in the refrigerator...to name two. But it is nice to have a working icemaker/water in the door again.

This GE counter depth fridge has been a disappointment from the time we received it. It make this LOUD noise . We understand the sounds of the ice maker and when it needs to regulate it's temperatures. This is an unexplained LOUD NOISE that occurs four to five hours each day. It could start at 10 am 10 pm or 2 am it doesn't matter because it is not consistent. GE technicians have come out three times but have not been able to repeat the LOUD NOISE. We made a fourth service call and GE refused to come out and referred us to customer relations to file a claim for a replacement unit Where we have been put on hold for hours . We were apparently rejected for a replacement unit so we have had to resubmit the claim. ZERO STAR!!!

Fine refrigeration but some shortcomings

We had a prior version of this counter-depth side-by-side refrigerator and loved it. So when it died, we bought this one without doing enough homework. It's unacceptably dark on the right hand side. In addition, it's about four inches shorter, which is a crucial loss of space in counter-depth refrigerators because they are already tight. We lost the 3rd food drawer on the right (a major shortcoming) and basket in the freezer with no way to buy them as accessories even though we have the space for them (the existing shelves are farther apart than we prefer).

My only concern regarding this refrigerator is the inside lighting. It is not bright enough when refrigerator is full.

Too small and no Temperature adjustment

Too small. Not even two big bowls will fix in the bottom. Too cold and there is absolutely no adjustments on the temperature but there is on other models. No freezer space. If you have a family, more than 2 ppl, then this is not the item you need. It also cost more than the larger one. Last, we were told we had 30 days to return and then when we called to replace the item with new one they said we only had 48 hours. Not long enough for the price.

I think it would be just about perfect if there were lights on the lower shelves in the refrigerator. The upper light is just not enough to see things on the lower shelves.

Bought this because it is the size that fits our counter depth cutout. Side by side is not my preference but it was the right size. Storage space is limited compared to my old frig but after I purchased some stackable containers, it will do. Lighting is good at the top but there is none at the bottom. Best attribute is it is VERY quiet. Nice exterior finish as well. It also allows things I use a lot to be stored at eye level. A good outcome given limits imposed by our space restrictions.

I am happy with the look and amount of space. The lower half of the refrigerator section is too dark and should have another light. My owners manual shows a light above the drawer, but there is no light. It is otherwise a nice refrigerator and has many great features.
