Beautiful range with double oven!

This was a gift to me and I love it. I've been wanting a double oven for quite awhile and got this just in time for Thanksgiving. Baked bread, pies, dressing, rolls and cookies using both ovens constantly. It worked like a champ! Also love the variety of burners and different options available. They heat up quickly.

Enamel keeps peeling off!

I'm on my 3rd oven...the enamel keeps breaking off in the top oven right in the front. KitchenAid has been helpful, but I think this time I would like a different model with a single oven. I loved the oven, but not the enamel peeling off the oven when I'm cooking food in there. The service man is coming again today. I have a kitchenaid stand mixer that is around 20 yrs old and a refrigerator, never had any problems, but this oven is driving me crazy.

Questionable craftsmanship

Disappointing

We bought this a month ago and was immediately concerned with how hot the extremities of the stove top got. We were concerned with the temperature of the frame because we have 2 little girls in the house and the smallest one likes to help mommy cook. We did not want her to get burned by the frame. When we tried to return this item to Home Depot, they stated that they would have to send a service technician to check to see if it is faulty. We cannot do an easy return since Home Depot is not a direct seller. They have to coordinate with the manufacturer to determine if it is faulty or damaged. When the technician came out, he indicated to me that Whirlpool (parent company of Kitchenaid) gave a temperature range of up to 170 degrees is acceptable. So basically i am not able to have my youngest one help me anymore for fear of her accidentally touching the frame of the stove top. Lesson learned, I will not purchase any more appliances through Home Depot anymore or anything else for that matter if I can help it. I will definitely go to Lowes or Ace. I have not been to Home Depot since this purchase. Lowes and Costco has a better return policy where customer satisfaction is guaranteed. Thank you.

Love the double oven and rack on rollers!

I love my new oven. So far it's baked everything I've baked evenly. The burners heat up fast. I love the burner that can be multiple sizes. We did a ton of research on freestanding double oven ranges before finally settling on this one. I love that the knobs are at the top and not on the front of the stove. I think the rack with the rollers is a genius idea! My old double oven range did not have this feature and I would always have to ask my husband for help whenever I needed to check heavy dishes to see if they were done. This oven has the roller racks that are much stronger than just a basic rack and can support heavier dishes and foods.

Great for a double oven

We chose Kitchenaid mainly because I wanted a double oven and this one seemed sturdier and nicer than the other options. The oven is great, I love having a small upper oven and how fast it heats up. The cooktop is tricky, the burners do not heat up as well as I hoped and after two months I should have figure it out but last night our meatballs were still cold that were on the back burners for over 20 minutes on medium. We have all new Kitchenaid appliances and my favorites are the refridgerator and the low profile microwave. I wish it was the range since it is the reason we picked Kitchenaid to begin with.

Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy if I had one! Got oversold on it because of Kitchen Aid's so called quality. Everytime we use it, grime builds on any burner we use. Contacted our sales rep, send pictures to their corporate office, who sent them to Kitchen Aid. Their response was that it was a "cosmetic" issue and since it had been over 30 days it was no longer covered. The store finally agreed to send one of their technicians to look at it. Right away he claimed that we were sliding the pans across and that was the reason it looked scratched. Ironically, he recommended we use a blade to scrape off the grime when we clean it. Reading other reviews I now know that it is not an isolated issue, other people have had the same problem. I wish I would have done more research instead of taking the friendly sales lady advice to buy Kitchen Aid quality. Our old range lasted 18 years and it never looked nowhere near as bad. I don't want to have to buy another one anytime soon but I hope that it doesn't last 18 years because that means 18 years of my wife reminding me how glad she is that I bought a quality product from a reputable company like Kitchen Aid. Too bad that reputable company has to hide flaws in their products behind a "cosmetic" issue banner!

Very good looking. Love the double oven. Was concerned with the bottom oven being so low but the slide out rack makes it quite easy. Love the convenience of the small upper oven and use this a lot, ie. baked potatoes, bread, casseroles. Only drawback is the small burners for keep warm and melt. Would gladly give up one of those for another small burner. The large triple burner is quite difficult to find a simmer temp, either full boil or barely on.

Overheats on outside (KitchenAid claims normal)

Overall, I'm happy with this range. The problem lies in the dangerous overheating. Our range was getting incredibly hot to the touch on the OUTSIDE when the oven was on. We called support and had a technician come out. They said it was normal. Apparently the standards for how hot an oven can get on the outside were increased and the allowed temperature can give you a first degree burn if you don't remove your hand quickly enough. This is not safe. It's not safe for adults, children, the elderly, or pets.

Love the double oven!

Love the Function, but Rusting after one year!

In December of 2017, we purchased a full line of Kitchenaid Stainless Steel appliances for $5K (fridge, oven- very similar to this one, microwave, dishwasher). We LOVE the function of the appliances and have not had ANY issues other than cosmetic. Every single one is rusting. I noticed it around one year later. When I would clean them, the rag was starting to turn yellow. This became more and more prominent and then you could see hundreds of small rust spots which every so slowly began to grow. I called Kitchenaid in May of 2019 and despite the issue not being covered, they sent someone out who verified that "Yes, that's a lot of rust!" and did not believe there was any reason to believe we were at fault. Kitchenaid replaced both doors on the refrigerator, but understandably the other appliances were not such an easy fix. After MANY phone conversations and lots of suggestions of what I could try, they eventually told me replacing the doors on the fridge was a "good faith gesture," but as all the appliances are rusting, they believe the problem is due to "the environment" they are being kept in. They admitted that their stainless steel is not actually completely stainless steel. They believe something has caused the protective coating that keeps the metal from rusting to be removed, causing the rust. They suggested numerous reasons as to how that could have happened. The humidity in "their environment" is too high. The appliances are in my kitchen, in a home in the middle of the midwest, not on a back porch or outdoor kitchen or even in a southern state where the humidty is higher. They suggested that perhaps I leave food out for too long and that has affected the "environment." They suggested that the chlorine level in my water might be too high and that I should contact my city and start using bottled water to clean the appliances. The only time I ever used anything other than the Kitchenaid cleaner was when they sent me something else to try and those instructions stated to wipe off with water when I applied the treatment. They suggested I used lemon juice. We do have another stainless steel refrigerator. In the same house. Cleaned the same way. Over 10 years old. And NO RUST. It's a Kenmore. A stainless steel wine fridge. No idea how old that is, but much older than the Kitchenaid appliances. NO RUST. A stainless steel toaster. 4 years old. No rust. Ultimately, I'm very disappointed that we upgraded to a brand that is well known for quality and are now stuck with perfectly functional, but rusting appliances.

Poor performance, poor documentation.

I was expecting a five burner range. Instead it only has three usable burners. Two of the burners are not usable for cooking. One is a warmer with only two setting, on and off. Another is a "melt" burner that is very low heat and intend to melt items without burning them. It has no documentation that explains how to use it multiple functions, very frustrating.

Well Equipped!!

Problem with powder coat on oven

I expect more from a kitchenaid product. After just 3 months the enamel on the oven started to flake off. I was told it was a cosmetic problem. Such a shame. I have always had great reliability from kitchenaid products.

I have been a Kitchen Aid Customer for over 15 years and purchased new appliances for a newly remodeled home. Love the double oven with the smaller oven - efficient. Had a similar oven in a rent house that was not a Kitchen Aid. Purchased and installed new oven in new home late May 2019. My issue is that after about 5 uses the enamel coating in the upper oven started to chip off. Had to have it serviced (7/5/19) and was told in was not repairable so the recommendation is for a new unit. I am waiting to see if this happens and how the new stove will function without causing the enamel to chip!

Love the double oven and features.

Love all the features with this oven. Temperatures are maintained throughout cooking. Love the glass cooktop. So easy to keep clean. I use the small oven most of the time when cooking for one. The larger oven works great and the convection feature comes in handy when your in a hurry.

Think I got a lemon

My husband splurged and bought me what he thought was top of the line, he bought the microwave and dishwasher as well. All with a 5year extended warranty. Within the first 6 months I used the oven cleaning setting. After it finished its cleaning cycle, I was cleaning the residue out and it felt like I was dragging glass shards across the bottom. The enamel has cracked and come off the bottom of the stove. I had service come out and their "fix" for my $2000+ oven was a paint pen. I was told it will probably happen again. It has now been two years and all the stovetop knobs have broken, I'm having to use pliers, lol. Came on to see if I could order new ones and decided I'd give my two cents.
